## How to tell a genuine Amatem Forte Soft Gel pack

- Amatem Forte comes in two registered forms with two different numbers: the tablets are A4-3489 (Active in our October 2026 copy of the register, to March 2029) and the soft gel capsules are B4-0952, recorded Inactive since 9 November 2025. A softgel pack printed with the tablet's number, or a tablet pack with the softgel's, is not the registered product.
- Both are 80 mg artemether with 480 mg lumefantrine, six to a course. Elbe Pharma is the Nigerian registration holder; the register records the softgel as made by Olive Healthcare and the tablets by S Kant Healthcare, both in India.
- B4-0952 was checked ten times in September, more than any other antimalarial number. Inactive means the registration has lapsed, not that the pack is fake — stock made before the lapse is genuine — but it also means no fresh stock should be arriving, so a softgel pack with a recent manufacturing date deserves a closer look.
- The 20/120 softgel (Amatem, B4-0953) is a third number again, also recorded Inactive. Compare the carton with the photograph on the Amatem page.
