Editorial Policy
Ogbogwu.com exists to give pharmacists, healthcare workers, drug dealers, and consumers in Nigeria accurate, verifiable information about medicines. This page explains where our information comes from, how it is reviewed, and how to report an error.
Our sources
Every drug page on Ogbogwu.com is built from primary, authoritative sources:
- •NAFDAC Greenbook — the official register of products approved by Nigeria's National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control. Every brand and NAFDAC registration number we list is cross-referenced against the Greenbook.
- •WHO Model List of Essential Medicines — for essential-medicine status and international guidance.
- •British National Formulary (BNF) — for dosing, interactions, and safety guidance.
- •Nigerian Standard Treatment Guidelines (Federal Ministry of Health) — for treatment practice in the Nigerian context.
- •Market price surveys — price ranges are gathered from licensed pharmacies and major pharmaceutical wholesale markets, and each price block shows the date it was last updated.
How content is created and updated
- •Each drug, market, and guide page carries a visible “Last updated” date that reflects the most recent revision of its data.
- •Prices and brand availability are re-checked on a rolling basis; regulatory pages are revised whenever NAFDAC or NDLEA guidance changes.
- •Where a page has been reviewed by a licensed pharmacist or healthcare professional, the reviewer is named on that page.
What we are not
Ogbogwu.com provides reference information, not medical advice. We do not sell medicines, take payment from manufacturers for placement, or rank brands commercially. Always consult a doctor or licensed pharmacist before starting, stopping, or changing any medication.
Who can change what
Nobody outside our editorial process has editing power over the public record — not manufacturers, not shops, not advertisers, and not any signed-in account. Drug information, prices, registry data, and market pages are written and corrected only by us, from the sources named above.
The one exception is deliberately narrow and labelled where it appears: a shop owner controls which of their own products their own shop page lists, and every other fact on that page — addresses, phone numbers, registrations — is published by us with its source and date after we've checked it. Accounts see signals about their own business; the record stays independent. This rule is enforced in our build checks, not just promised here.
Corrections
If you find an error — a wrong NAFDAC number, an outdated price, a discontinued brand — we want to fix it. Reach us through the details on our About page, and include the page URL and the correction. Verified corrections are applied promptly and the page's “Last updated” date is refreshed.
