Ogbogwu.com is a drug-information platform used across Nigeria — thousands of people a month use it to check NAFDAC registrations and compare medicine prices. We are now listing the markets themselves, one shop at a time, and Sabon Gari Market, Kano is next: every medicines wholesaler in the market, so buyers anywhere in Nigeria can find and contact the right shop directly, free of charge to the shop.
Your job is to build that directory on foot. You walk the market line by line, shop by shop, and sign wholesalers up: shop name, line and section address, the WhatsApp number buyers should call, what they sell, and a photo of the shopfront — taken with the trader's permission. A listing only counts when it is verified: the photo is real and the WhatsApp number answers.
It is honest, physical, sociable work. You will talk to traders all day, hear no plenty of times, and still hit your count. The medicines trade at Sabon Gari Market runs to roughly 3,000 shops; at the full pace of 20 verified listings a day, one person covers it in about seven months — and the person who does it will know Sabon Gari Market better than anyone else alive.
This role is directly with Ogbogwu (ogbogwu.com), the drug-information platform for Nigeria's medicine markets — this page is the employer's own site.
What you'll do
- •Visit medicines shops in Sabon Gari Market line by line and sign them up to the platform's free directory
- •Record each shop accurately: name, line and section address, contact WhatsApp, product categories and top lines, shopfront photo taken with permission
- •Verify every listing before it counts — the WhatsApp number must answer, the photo must be the real shop; listings are spot-checked by phone
- •Hit the daily count: 10 verified listings a day in your first two weeks while you learn, 20 a day after that
- •Introduce interested shops to the platform's other free tools — the listing is free and stays free
- •Report daily: your count, refusals, and what objections you are hearing
What you must already have
- •Based in or near Kano and able to be in Sabon Gari Market every working day
- •Comfortable on your feet all day, talking to traders — fluent Hausa and English; pidgin helps
- •A smartphone you use well: photos, WhatsApp, and filling simple forms
- •Organised and honest — the count is verified, and padding it with fake or recycled listings ends the role
- •Field experience (sales, enumeration, agency banking, market work) is an advantage, not a requirement
